Anish Kapoor

Kapoor's pieces are frequently simple, curved forms, usually monochromatic and brightly coloured. Most often, the intention is to engage the viewer
Kapoor was the first living British artist to take over the Royal Academy, London, 2009.

Graphic Design Referenced - Review

Knowledge is key.
The book states: Impererative as it is to stay abreast of world news, congnizant of other disciplines, and interested in a variety of topics, delving fully into the world of graphic design is essential. A sustained interest in the trade publications, book, blogs, and exhibits that catalogue and trace the evolution of graphic design helps broaden one's understanding of how it is practiced, talked about and showcased.

Graphic Design, Referenced is a visual and informational guide to the most commonly referenced terms, historical moments, landmark projects, and influential practitioners in the field of graphic design. With more than 2,000 design projects illustrating more than 400 entries, it provides an complete overview of the varied elements that make up the graphic design profession.

The book starts with a definitive time line containing all the information you will need to compile an assignment. About that i will say no more. It is also available at a library near you.
This book includes everything you will ever need to know about graphic design. Its full of great designs, bright colors and intelligent descriptions. But to be totally honest, i find the whole thing excessive.
I rate it 9 thick books out of 10.

Verner Panton - Revolutionary chair designer

VERNER PANTON (1926-1998) was a master of the fluid, futuristic style of 1960s design which introduced the Pop aesthetic to furniture and interiors.
Verner Panton envisioned a colorful and happy future.
Verner Panton was not obstructed by limitations that adults incur throughout life. Instead, he thought and created with the imaginary vision of a child, in bold beautiful colors and shapes.

Victor Horta - Art nouveau architect

Victor, Baron Horta (6 January 1861 - 9 September 1947) was a Belgian architect and designer. He was described bu some as undoubtedly the key European Art Nouveau architect. His use of light and earthy botanical forms fills my heart with warmth.
